Day 0: Drive to Cortina and onward to the Falzarego Pass (2105 m), where we leave the car for the next four days. From the pass, a gondola takes us up to the comfortable Rifugio Lagazuoi (2752 m), which marks the starting point of our tour. From the hut, we have great views of the surrounding peaks — Tofana, Marmolada, Cinque Torri, and more.

Day 1: From the hut, we first descend along the ski slope and continue toward the small lake Lech de Lagació (2200 m), located in a valley surrounded by steep cliffs. We then ascend to the Forcela di Lech saddle (2486 m), which opens up a panorama dominated by the 3000-meter peak Piz de Lavarela. From the saddle, we head East toward the sharp notch of Forcella di Fanes (2850 m), from where an approximately 800-meter descent awaits us to the bottom of the Fanes Valley. After a short final ascent to the North end of the valley, we descend to the Fanes Hut (2080 m). This hut is known for its excellent cuisine and comfortable rooms.

Day 2: There is an abundance of ski-touring objectives in the area around the Fanes Hut. We can opt for an easier tour, such as Mont Ciastel (2817 m), where remnants of wartime are still visible, or head for the highest summit of the massif above the Fanes Valley — Piz Lavarela (3055 m), which involves some scrambling near the top and steep ski sections on the descent. We spend the evening and night again at the Fanes Hut.

Day 3: From the Fanes Hut, we ski down the groomed track to a long flat section, where we prepare for the ascent toward the Forcella Ciamin (2400 m). Above the saddle, a short steeper climb brings us to the notch (2570 m) East of Cima Ciamin. This is followed by an enjoyable descent through a narrow valley and then across open slopes to the Fodara Vedla Hut (1900 m), which is closed in winter. We put the skins back on and follow the groomed track to the Sennes Hut (2050 m), where we end the day.

Day 4: The final day features a tour with little ascent and a lot of descent. The goal is Monte Sella di Sennes (2787 m), the northernmost peak of our journey. The descent from the summit follows wide slopes down to the Forcella de Riciogogn saddle (2331 m). The continuation from the saddle is slightly more demanding, but soon the terrain opens up again and the angle eases. At the bottom of the valley, we ski all the way to the road leading to Lago di Braies (1500 m). After one last Italian coffee, a taxi takes us back to the starting point.
