We begin the route at the end of the gravel road a few kilometres further from the Kamniška Bistrica Hut. At first, we follow the trail toward the Kamnik saddle, but after about half an hour we turn onto an unmarked path leading toward Srebrno sedlo. We soon leave this path as well, crossing a stream and then ascending a gully to the base of the ridge, where we prepare for climbing.
Staničev vrh (1808 m) is the first in the sequence of peaks forming the Zeleniške Špice ridge. From Staničev vrh over the summit of Debeli špic (1937 m) and all the way to the end of the ridge at Najvišji rob (2127 m), we encounter multiple ascents and descents across narrower and broader rocky towers with solid, compact rock. The ridge ends at Srebrno sedlo, where we can enjoy a well-earned rest on the soft grass with beautiful views.
The descent follows the unmarked path through the Repov kot valley back to the starting point.
